25 - 30 OCTOBER, 2015 CHICAGO, IL, USA

Video Previews

Please read the following instructions carefully and submit your 30-second Video Preview by the date (August X, 2015) indicated below for your track. You can think of this Video Preview as an elevator pitch to advertize your work or the event you are organizing. Video Previews are mandatory for all papers presented at VIS, but strongly encouraged for all other VIS tracks.

VIS 2015 will broadcast Video Previews on large video screens at the conference venue. These videos will also be accessible from the conference website on the VIS Vimeo channel prior to the conference. This a great opportunity to publicize your work or event to a wider audience and to attract more attendees. VIS 2015 will have multiple sessions and the Video Previews will help conference attendees decide which sessions to attend. For inspiration, you can watch the Video Previews of VIS 2013 or VIS 2014.

Additionally, authors of certain tracks will preview their work live during a Fast Forward session at the conference. The Video Preview can be reused later for the Fast Forward video, with minor adaptations. Detailed instructions for the Fast Forward are available here.

    Submission

Identify the VIS track you are participating in and follow the corresponding submission instructions.

VAST, InfoVis and SciVis Papers, Posters, Workshops, Tutorials

Submit the Video Preview using the Precision Conference System (PCS). Log in on PCS and go to my submissions in progress > modify final version. Upload your video file in the box named 30-sec Video Preview.

Authors that run out of space on PCS should:

    • If the Video Preview is greater than 20MB, try to re-compress the video to yield a smaller file size and re-upload on PCS.
    • If this is not possible:
      • Rename the Video Preview file as <track name>-<ID>, where ID is the ID you were automatically assigned when you first submitted your work on PCS (e.g., vast_paper-100.mp4, infovis_paper-100.mp4, scivis_paper-100.mp4, poster-100.mp4, workshop-100.mp4, tutorial-100.mp4).
      • Upload it on a sharing service of your choice (e.g. Dropbox or Google Drive).
      • Email the URL of your Video Preview file to ff(at)ieeevis.org. The subject of the email should be [VIS15 VP submission] <track name>-<ID>: <title of paper/poster/workshop/tutorial> (e.g., [VIS15 VP submission] vast_paper-100: Designing Effective Visual Analytics Methods).

Please double-check that you have included the correct URL and details before sending your email. Multiple emails for the same work could cause confusion.

TVCG and CG&A Selected Papers, Panels, Doctoral Colloquium, Visualization in Practice, Others Contacted by Email

    • Upload it on a sharing service of your choice (e.g. Dropbox or Google Drive).
