In this poster we discuss the concept of sparklines that can be used for analysing trends in cluttered displays in parallel coordinates. The parallel coordinates sparklines have been implemented in the web-based visualization tool ViewExposed to help users analyse data on exposure and vulnerability to natural hazards. To validate the usability of our proposed method, we have conducted user tests with 53 participants and our results show that the sparklines are particularly useful for revealing significant trends.
