We live amidst a cacophonous tornado of information. Given an audience accustomed to video games and instant information, how does one make visualizations to engage enough and maintain the interest necessary to absorb the depth of the visualization's information? Artists have been in the business of gathering and holding attention for thousands of years. They have well-honed tools. Science is inherently fascinating. Making discoveries, connections and understanding the world in which we live is addictive. This workshop will explore the artist’s toolbox, and open discussion to which tools might be put to use. The goal of this workshop is to tap into the participating artist’s expertise and discuss how to effectively employ their tools while maintaining the integrity of the visualization and the science.
