13 - 18 OCTOBER 2013, ATLANTA, GEORGIA, USA

Meetups (BOF)

Proposals may be submitted for informal meetups on visualization methods, application areas or related topics. Meetups, previously known as BOFs, are an excellent forum to discuss a wide range of topics related to scientific and information visualization. For example, if you are an experienced researcher, consider submitting a proposal to share your knowledge in an informal setting with conference participants. Proposals devoted to a particular discipline's methods and cross disciplinary proposals are both welcome. Some recent meetup meetings included opportunities to meet and discuss topics related to blogging about visualization, the BioVis contest and the connection between art and science.

IEEE VIS 2013 is eager to expand its meetup sessions and will consider proposals for each day and evening of the conference, given room availability. Vis meetups are public and open to all attendants. Meetup organizers need to be registered at the conference for at least the day of the meetup.

A meetup proposal should include a title, a brief description of the topic to be addressed and identify prospective attendees. The proposal should be no longer than 2 pages in length. Meetup proposals should be sent jointly to Christopher Collins, Xiaoyu Wang and Carlos Scheidegger at meetups(at)ieeevis.org
