Teaching Visualization with VTK

Organizer:
Andy Bauer

The purpose of this BOF is to pool knowledge and resources that promote the use of VTK (Kitware's Visualization Tool Kit, http://www.vtk.org) as an enabling tool in undergraduate and graduate courses that focus on scientific visualization. This can include example syllabi and curricula; proposed assignments (and results from students); advice on the scope of projects that are and aren't feasible in a semester; and available data sets that are both quickly accessible and reward thoughtful effort. We focus specifically on scientific visualization because we see it as a relatively stable and well-developed field compared to the glorious free-for-alls of visual analytics and information visualization.
